I was recently introduced to the blog, "Reasons My Son is Crying." http://reasonsmysoniscrying.tumblr.com/
I absolutely love this illustrative posting by a zany Dad showcasing the million and one reasons his toddler has to start the waterworks. I snort as I look again at the photos of a poor kid trying to take off his shoe or not being able to push his sibling. Tonight, however, I feel as though I can write my own such blog. Insert "Daughter" in place of "Son," and that about sums up our night. It was a mixture of slight frustration, pangs of guilt, laughter, and love. Olivia was not having a very good evening, to say the least, poor girl. However, as I was dodging her flailing arms, board books, and toothbrushes, as well as trying to trim her talons (aka toenails) whilst being shrieked at in tones that dogs on the other side of Lincoln could hear, I was making my own list in my head of "Reasons My Kid is Crying." Enjoy.
1. She wanted me to pick her up. I picked her up.
2. I wouldn't let her put the phone charger in her mouth.
3. I couldn't make her a bottle in 0.000009 seconds.
4. The dog ran away from her.
5. The dog licked her.
6. I put her in the bath.
7. I took her out of the bath.
8. I wouldn't let her eat the bar of soap in the bath.
9. I did not read her bedtime story quickly enough.
10. I kissed her goodnight.
I am so in love with this little person named Olivia Monet, my now one year old. She makes me laugh and I hope I can return the favor one day as I recount these stories to my strong willed girl. Gee, I wonder where she gets that from...
